Botulinum Toxin Injections

Botulinum toxin, commonly known by the brand Botox, is a muscle relaxant toxin strategically injected into specific muscles to achieve a desired cosmetic outcome or provide symptomatic relief.

While widely recognized for its use in anti-wrinkle injections, botulinum toxin can also be employed for various treatments, including jaw width reduction, minimizing a gummy smile, and alleviating excessive sweating under the armpits.

Jawline Slimming Injections

Jawline slimming (Masseter injections)

The masseter muscle, commonly known as the chewing muscle, can contribute to the appearance of a wide jaw in some individuals due to its strength. Jaw width reduction is a cosmetic procedure that involves injecting Botulinum toxin into the masseter muscles located just above the jawline. This application of Botulinum toxin helps relax the masseter muscle, effectively reducing its size and creating a more aesthetically pleasing, slimmer jaw width.

During jaw width reduction masseter injections, four injections are typically administered on each side. This procedure usually does not require anesthesia, and the treatment itself can be completed within 10-15 minutes, with minimal to no downtime. Results of jaw width reduction become noticeable after approximately 4 weeks and can last up to 3 to 4 months.

It's noteworthy that masseter injections are also employed for alleviating symptoms of teeth grinding, a condition that often leads to migraines. The treatment for teeth grinding involves the same injections in the same location as those used for jaw width reduction.

Rosacea Botox

Rosacea is a persistent skin condition primarily affecting the face, with initial signs including redness (blushing) across the nose, cheeks, forehead, chin, neck, and chest.

Botox can serve as an effective means to alleviate and diminish the redness associated with rosacea, yielding results such as reduced redness, an enhanced skin glow, and increased skin tightening in the treated areas.

The effects of Botox treatment typically last up to 3 months, and multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve a more substantial and prolonged cosmetic improvement. The process of treating rosacea with Botox entails multiple superficial injections into the affected areas using a diluted form of the toxin.

Trapezius Botox
(Stiff Neck)

The injection of Botox into the trapezius muscle offers both a slimming effect and relief from stiffness by inducing muscle relaxation. This treatment, known by various names such as 'shoulder Botox,' 'trap Botox,' 'neck muscle Botox,' 'stiff neck Botox,' and even 'shoulder slimming Botox,' typically involves 3-5 injections on each side of the neck, specifically targeting the trapezius muscle.

The procedure, involving around 10-unit injections, allows for up to 50 units to be injected on each side, totaling 100 units. This approach effectively relaxes the trapezius muscle, contributing to slimming and reducing stiffness. The treatment process may take 4-6 weeks before noticeable results emerge, and due to the substantial size of the muscle, a second session is often recommended to enhance and prolong the effects. This treatment proves particularly beneficial for individuals experiencing pain associated with hunching their shoulders, especially during prolonged computer use.

Neck Tightening
(Nefertiti Lift)

The neck area comprises muscles known as platysmal bands, visible as vertical lines, especially when clenching the teeth. Some individuals may exhibit strong neck bands that are apparent even when the muscles are at rest, contributing to lines, loose skin, and a less defined neck, jawline, and chin.

Neck Botox, often referred to as the 'Nefertiti lift' or 'Nefertiti Botox,' involves injecting botulinum toxin into the platysmal bands to relax the robust muscles. This procedure entails multiple injections of diluted botulinum toxin administered from the collarbone upward toward the jawline, effectively spreading the toxin's effects across the vertical platysmal bands.

Following neck Botox treatment, results typically become noticeable between 2 to 4 weeks. This includes a reduction in the appearance of platysmal bands and an overall lifting and tightening effect on the neck. The effects of Botox in the neck muscles generally last between 4 to 6 months, necessitating re-treatment to maintain the desired neck tightening effect.

Armpit Sweating

Excessive armpit sweating, a natural process to cool the body, can become problematic for some individuals, affecting their quality of life. Botulinum toxin injections in the armpit muscles offer an effective solution to alleviate this condition. The toxin works by relaxing the muscles in the armpit, significantly reducing sweating and improving the overall quality of life for those dealing with excess armpit sweating.

Armpit sweating treatment involves ensuring the armpit is free of hair before the procedure. On the treatment day, the armpit is sterilized and then numbed with an anesthetic cream. Multiple injections of Botulinum toxin are administered under each armpit during the treatment, which typically lasts up to 30 minutes. The effects of armpit sweating treatment can last for up to 4 to 6 months, providing a prolonged relief from excessive sweating.

Gummy Smile

A gummy smile occurs when, upon smiling, a patient's gums become visible. This visibility is often attributed to the action of a strong muscle near the nose called the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi muscle. Injecting Botulinum toxin into this muscle helps relax it, reducing the pull of the upper lip and, consequently, diminishing the appearance of gums during a smile, effectively eliminating the gummy smile.

Gummy smile treatment typically involves two injections on either side of the nose, targeting the specific muscle responsible. The procedure does not require anesthesia, and there is minimal to no downtime. Results of gummy smile treatment become noticeable within 2 weeks and can last for up to 3 to 4 months, providing an aesthetically pleasing solution to the gummy smile concern.

Scalp Rejuvenation Botox
(Hair Loss
For Men)

Botox for scalp rejuvenation is a procedure that entails multiple injections of Botox into the hairline and scalp, aimed at reducing hair loss and encouraging hair regrowth in men. Hair loss can manifest in various forms, including a receding hairline and patches of hair loss across the scalp. Botox has the potential to relax muscles in the scalp, fostering hair growth regeneration.

The Botox injections for scalp rejuvenation employ a combination of techniques, incorporating mesotherapy (nappage technique) and superficial micro boluses across the entire scalp. Specific attention is given to targeting hair loss patches and the hairline with additional doses.

Results from this treatment may involve a reduction in hair loss and gradual regeneration over an extended period. To achieve optimal outcomes, multiple sessions spaced three months apart are typically recommended. This approach represents a comprehensive strategy for addressing hair loss concerns and promoting scalp health.

Lip Flip

The lip flip, often referred to as 'lip Botox' or 'lip flip Botox,' is a treatment designed to address thin upper lips, particularly when the upper lip appears to disappear while smiling. While some individuals opt for lip dermal fillers to enhance volume and vertically increase lip size, the lip flip with Botox offers an equally effective alternative.

The procedure involves injecting the muscle relaxant botulinum toxin into the upper lip muscle known as the orbicularis oris, utilizing four small injections. This process relaxes the muscle, causing the upper lip to roll outwards and revealing more of the pink lip, resulting in an increased upper lip size for a cosmetic enhancement.

Results from a lip flip with Botox may take up to 2 weeks to fully manifest, and the effects can last between 3-4 months. Subsequent treatments are typically required to maintain the desired cosmetic effect.

For individuals with very thin lips, lip flip Botox can be combined with lip filler treatment for an enhanced overall cosmetic outcome. This combination can be performed over two sessions, with the administration of botulinum toxin during the first appointment, followed by lip dermal filler in the second session.

Downturn corner's of mouth

The downturned corners of the mouth, creating a constant appearance of sadness, can be attributed to the overworking of a muscle known as the depressor anguli oris (DAO). A solution to this issue involves injecting botulinum toxin into the DAO, which helps relax the muscle and reduces the "pull-down" effect, ultimately alleviating the resting sad face appearance.

The treatment for downturned corners of the mouth with Botox typically includes two injections on either side of the mouth. Results may take up to 2 weeks to become fully apparent, and the effects can last between 3 to 4 months. Subsequent treatments are generally recommended to maintain the desired cosmetic effect, offering individuals a way to address the appearance of downturned corners and achieve a more neutral or uplifting facial expression.
